1916-1918 High School held on top floor of Grammar School | 1918 |
Upper Lake started out as part of the Lakeport Union High School District. But in 1916 Upper Lake withdrew from the Lakeport District, and established the Upper Lake Union High School District. For the first two and a half terms the High school classes were held in the upstairs rooms of the old elementary school.
The property for a new High School was purchased from John Packwood; bonds were voted, and a new school was built. During Christmas vacation in 1918, the High School classes were moved into the new building.
